More Consistent Response Times for Dialt Fast and Smart

· Ronan McGovern

Dialt Smart and Dialt Fast continue to lead in our internal benchmark of cross-customer tasks, now with more consistent response times.

The median response time, or p50, is the time within which half of responses begin. The p90 is the time within which nine out of ten responses begin. We have reduced p90 response times significantly for both models, giving callers fewer long waits while retaining benchmark-leading accuracy.

Accuracy against caller-heard response time. The response-time scale runs from slower on the left to faster on the right, so better results are up and to the right.

In our latest production run, Dialt Fast measured 1.09 seconds at p50 and 1.78 seconds at p90. Dialt Smart measured 1.50 seconds at p50 and 2.06 seconds at p90.

These upgrades have already been rolled out to Dialt customers.

Dialt Fast in a live call

This live, unedited call was recorded for last week's Dialt preview, before today's response-time update. It remains a representative example of Dialt Fast in the playground; the chart above contains today's benchmark measurements.

How we measure

  • The benchmark includes ten cross-customer voice scenarios, each run three times.
  • An LLM judge scores each call against case-specific criteria and rubrics.
  • Response time is measured with word-level forced alignment, from the end of the caller's last word to the start of the assistant's first word.
