Terms of Service

These terms govern use of the Dialt engine, APIs, SDKs, playground and website. Creating an account or using an API key means you accept them.

Last updated 22 October 2026.

1. The service

Dialt is a hosted speech-to-speech engine: you send audio and configuration, we return speech, transcripts, tool calls and session metadata. We choose and tune the underlying speech recognition, language and speech generation components. We may change those components, so do not build your application around a specific provider or model. The playground, sessions, evaluations and documentation are also part of the service.

2. Accounts and API keys

You are responsible for keeping keys secret and for everything done with them: anyone holding a key can spend your credit and read your sessions. Revoke a compromised key from your account page. Never embed a key in distributed client-side code; use the short-lived session credentials in the API documentation. Do not share an account outside your organisation.

3. Your responsibilities

You decide who talks to your application, what the application says and what tools it can call. You are responsible for:

For conversation content, you decide why and how it is processed, and Dialt processes it for you. See our Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Dialt to impersonate someone or create a voice from their recording without permission, hide that a conversation is automated when disclosure is required, place unlawful or unsolicited calls, defraud or harass anyone, create sexual abuse material involving children, or send data that you are not allowed to share with a service provider.

Do not try to extract our private prompts or configuration, resell the service, train a competing speech model on our outputs, or bypass rate limits, billing or access controls.

We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms, your use may cause harm, or action is needed to comply with the law or protect Dialt, the service, our customers, users or others. We may act without notice when reasonably necessary and will explain why as soon as we reasonably can.

5. Credit and payment

Dialt is prepaid. Credit is bought through Stripe and metered per second of conversation, rounded up, at the rate shown on your account page; committed text converts to speech-equivalent seconds at a discount. New accounts get a one-time free credit.

Your ledger is the record. Sessions stop when the balance runs out. Credit is not a deposit, earns no interest, and unused credit is not refundable except where law requires or we agree in writing. Price changes apply going forward, never retroactively. You are responsible for taxes other than taxes on our income.

6. Your content and our service

You keep all rights in what you send and in the outputs generated for you. You grant us the rights needed to provide the service and the limited feedback right below. Providing the service includes processing, sending, storing and displaying content, and using retained sessions for quality review and testing during their retention period.

We do not train shared models on customer conversations, traces or personal data. We do not ask for rights to a person's voice, likeness or identity. Any broader use requires a separate written agreement and a change to our Privacy Policy.

If you provide feedback about Dialt, such as ratings, suggestions or corrections, you grant Dialt a worldwide, non-exclusive right to use that feedback to improve our models and services. This includes feedback submitted through the Playground, sessions, evaluations or API, or shared directly with our team. This right applies only to the feedback itself, not to accompanying recordings, transcripts or other customer content, and remains subject to our Privacy Policy and the model-training limits above.

We keep all rights in the service, docs and brand. Our published SDKs are separately licensed under Apache 2.0 and nothing here narrows that. We will not name you publicly as a customer without permission.

7. Privacy and retention

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it and how to request deletion. We do not currently offer a customer-selected retention period or zero data retention. Contact us before sending live traffic if your use requires either.

If you are a customer in the EEA or UK, you may evaluate Dialt with your own voice, synthetic data or non-personal data. Do not send personal data about your callers, employees, customers or other people until Dialt publishes the required customer data-processing and international-transfer terms.

8. Availability and changes

There is no contractual uptime or support commitment today. We may change, deprecate or withdraw features, and aim to give reasonable notice of breaking API changes through the docs and changelogs.

9. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is", without warranties, to the fullest extent the law allows. Recognition, language and synthesis are probabilistic: outputs can be wrong and transcripts can misrepresent what was said. Do not make Dialt the sole basis for a legal, financial, medical or safety decision, and do not rely on it for emergency communications.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may terminate for material breach, or on notice for convenience. On termination your keys stop working and stored sessions are handled as described in the Privacy Policy, so export anything you want first.

12. General

These terms are the whole agreement on this subject. If a provision is unenforceable the rest stands. You may not assign without our consent. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced, the date above will change, and continued use after that date means acceptance.
